I grew a fondness for our feathered friends while living in Maryland. Waterfowl in particular are one of my favorite subjects. Ridgefield NWR is set up as a drive through wetland with a few hiking trails. It's nice because a car makes a good bird blind. Most of these shots a heavily cropped and won't print well, but are ok for the web. I could obviously use a little more reach them my 300mm can provide, but $5k for a birding lens isn't in the annual budget.
