2010 Roxborough State Park

Roxborough State Park is a 3000+ acre park centered around dramatic red-rock formations. The rocks are tiled sandstone that was exposed as the Ancestral Rocky Mountains eroded away. The park is located southwest of Denver and is only about a 45 minute drive from my house making for pretty easy access.

I woke up at 4:30am with the intention of catching sunrise. However, I should have checked the website as the park actually opened at 7am. Sunrise was 6:15am. Oops. The sky was pretty much cloudless, so I'm not really upset about missing sunrise.

Below are a few panoramas that show how large the formations are as well as a family of mule deer that I ran into on the way out. Of course, I left my 300mm at home and the longest lens in my bag was a 105mm macro. Again, oops.
