At 3am on a warm July morning in 2005, I found the motivation the head to DC with the goal of photographing the WWII Memorial. It's the newest addition to the National Mall at just over a year old. I managed to hit the Vietnam Wall and Lincoln before the sun broke the horizon. In a few of the shots I used a new technique of blending multiple exposures into one photo to improve the dynamic range. It's the only way, with the light I had, to have the Washington Monument and the names on the Vietnam Wall exposed properly. Digital photography has really expanded a photographer's capabilities. I'm not sure how film will survive much longer in today's digital world.
