A Weekend in DC and Annapolis
At 3am on a warm July morning in 2005, I found the motivation the head to DC with the goal of photographing the WWII Memorial. It's the newest addition to the National Mall at just over a year old. I managed to hit the Vietnam Wall and Lincoln before the sun broke the horizon. In a few of the shots I used a new technique of blending multiple exposures into one photo to improve the dynamic range. It's the only way, with the light I had, to have the Washington Monument and the names on the Vietnam Wall exposed properly. Digital photography has really expanded a photographer's capabilities. I'm not sure how film will survive much longer in today's digital world. |

After returning from DC, we headed off to Annapolis, MD. We found some great brick streets and the nation's oldest state house still being used by the government. We returned early the next morning to see what the streetlights looked like on the red brick streets. |
