One of the main goals of this trip was to capture some wildlife, mainly birds, that we wouldn't normally see in Maryland. Pelicans are one of those birds that are not very common. These shots were taken in NE Florida near Naval Station Mayport on the St. Johns River.

These shots are from Guana River State Park just north of St. Augustine. We were rained out that morning so we started to head back north to Jacksonville via A1A. The clouds cleared somewhat and we decided to make a stop. We were lucky enough to find a hungry great blue heron that wasn't camera shy. At times, he was no more then 30 ft away. A cormorant hung out on a post keeping an eye on us too.
