One of the best things about Columbia, Maryland is the city's commitment to open space. While that has come under assault in the past few years, Columbia still boasts a large amount of parks, lakes, and running/walking trails. Right down the road from my house is Lake Elkhorn. It's a large manmade lake that is a popular gathering place for wildlife. Here are some shots from our most recent visit.
