2004 Miss America Contestants Visit Walter Reed

All 51 of the 2004 Miss America contestants took time out of their visit to Washington D.C. to meet some of Walter Reed Army Hospital's many patients, most of them coming from the war in Afghanistan or Iraq. Each brought a small gift for the hospital, most were books or audio books. Most seemed quite moved by the conversations they had with the soldiers. I was there to assist Michael Dukes, an award winning writer with The Stripe, Walter Reed's newspaper. Here's a link to the article he wrote:
