The National Zoo In D.C.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo was founded in 1889. It's located a few miles north of the D.C. Mall, a few blocks from a Metro stop, which makes access quite easy since parking is horrible. The Zoo just like the other Smithsonian museums has free admission making them one of the best deals in town. Of course this leads to it being quite crowded like it was on this day. I was still able to work my way around the crowds and get some great shots. This was my first real shoot with a digital SLR, a Nikon D100. It was awesome.
