In mid September of '05, we decided to make an early morning trip to the National Zoo in DC. We wanted to take advantage of the warm morning light. The big cats, my favorites, were in heavy shade and sleeping, so they weren't the best subjects. The asian elephants were quite photogenic, as were the prairie dogs. I also managed to capture a decent shot of one of the young cheetah cubs that are a new addition to the zoo's clan. It was a fun trip and we plan to return after our first snow.
