Finally back out shooting for me again. This was only a quick half day trip. Now that I'm somewhat settled, I'll have to go out and explore more.

A quick overnight trip to Seattle yielded a few new images.

The refections are off the Experience Music Project, a unique building and tourist trap.

The other night shots are of the Pikes Place Farmers Market. Another tourist trap, but this is a must visit when in Seattle.

Those who know me know I have an irrational fear of spiders. This giant beast took up residence right outside my front door. I felt I had to muster up the courage to take a few photos since he made it so clear he wanted me to know he was there.

These were taken on in April '07 somewhere in Central Oregon. I spotted the windmill as I was making my way to White River State Park. You can see more shots from this trip here.

On an early Sunday morning in October '06, we took a short drive into Baltimore to get some shots of the city as the sun came up. We caught an interesting cloud formation passing over the city just in time to catch some morning rays. We also found one of Baltimore's many historic churches basking in some beautiful morning light.

These shots were taken at the Historic Jerusalem Mill Village. It's a state owned, volunteer run park based around a village dating back to the late 1700s. Some period buildings exist in their original state and volunteers conduct tours and demonstrations like the blacksmith featured in these images.

Here's a shot of The Jefferson Memorial looking across the tidal basin. It was a cool 30 degrees and totally dark at 6pm. Gotta love winter. The best part was that we didn't have to share the narrow sidewalk, which of course is normally a major problem.

We made it back to Antietam National Park, home of the bloodiest battle in the Civil War, on a morning in October '05. These are from a bronze carving on an Irish memorial near Bloody Lane. There are a few more shots from the trip of the Burnside Bridge on my panorama page.

A quick trip to DC on Labor Day weekend '05 yielded only one real stop, The Washington National Cathedral. It's the second largest cathedral in the U.S. and the sixth largest in the world. I arrived after the tours were over so I was only able to capture exterior shots. However, the light was great leaving the front bathed in a warm glow. I'm sure there will be more visits in the future.

On a semi cool day in June '05, we took a morning trip to DC. The planned goal was some shots of the Jefferson Memorial and to see what the view was like form the Old Post Office Tower, the "2nd best view in DC." The tower was a bust because of dirty plexiglas windows, but we got some good shots along the walk from the Capitol to the Jefferson Memorial. Amazingly it wasn't very crowded so we were able to get some shots without the normal tons of tourists in the pictures.

These we're shot on my second visit to Eastern Neck National Wildlife Reserve. This time I had a working long lens. We stopped on the side of the road after seeing an osprey nest in a bird box. The osprey was quite impressive to watch in flight. This girl is building up her nest which I would assume has eggs in it since its breeding season for them. I'm sure we'll make more trips back to Eastern Neck in the near future.

This was taken at Eastern Neck National Wildlife Reserve on the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay. We were their in search of some bird shots. I managed to capture a fair amount of birds including some bald eagles, but came to find that the lens I was using was broken. So none of the shots were useable. :(
