The Casselman Bridge lies near Cumberland, MD. It was constructed in 1813-14. It was built with a high arch over the water with the C & O Canal in mind, but with the advent of railroads and cheaper transportation, the canal was never finished. The bridge continued in service through until 1933. It still makes for a great subject especially in Fall. Photo made in Oct, '04. |

Here's some shots of Heceta Head Lighthouse near Florence, Oregon. You can see why it's the most photographed lighthouse in the Northwest. Some of these shots were taken from behind the lighthouse on a steep, wooded hill. If you ever visit Heceta Head make sure you watch your footing on when climbing the hill. You'll see what I mean. |
