Our biggest surprise was The Rookery. There were tons of waterfowl nesting over a swamp filled with alligators. And we timed our visit perfectly. Most of the nests had babies in them, so the parents were around and staying close allowing for some amazing closeups. Many of the nests were within arms reach. Of course we kept our hands to ourselves. I have to say that most of the adults are quite beautiful, but the babies have a face that only a mother could love.
