US Army Ordnance Museum

The US Army Ordnance Museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground is home to a large collection of vintage and current tanks, artillery, and anti aircraft vehicles. This WWII vintage AA gun was a great macro subject.

Here's some of the artillery pieces they have on display. The first 2 are of a 280mm "Atomic Cannon" based on a German rail gun. Of course it never fired its atomic shells anywhere but on a test range.

These are some vintage WWII era tanks. The first is a British Mark IV and other is the "Spider Tank" a US prototype based on the Mark IV.

Here are some other shots from around the museum. This would be a good stop for anyone with an interest in military history. The only drawback is almost all of the exhibits are outdoors, which has caused a fair amount of deterioration so most vehicles aren't in "museum quality" condition.
